About the event

This first session of the “FPCs in Action” webinar series explores how FPCs can be grounded in the Right to Food, with implications for their composition, governance, and everyday practice. The webinar will address a key tension: should FPCs mirror current power relations in the food system, or reflect the more just and sustainable balance of power we aim to build?


During the webinar, participants will gain tools to map power dynamics, recognize risks such as co‑optation and tokenism, and discuss safeguards that center marginalized voices. The event is hosted by The American University of Rome’s Center for Food Studies, in partnership with FIAN International, the Center for Mississippi Food Systems, The National Right to Food Community of Practice (USA), National Council for Food Security and Nutrition - CONSEA (Brazil), and Good Food for All, with the technical cooperation of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations Right…
